Welcome to Wildboar Weightlifting Club at Fortitude Gym! We set up Wildboar weightlifting in 2018 as a branch of Fortitude for those looking to learn and develop the Olympic lifts, the snatch and clean and jerk.
Things have snowballed and we now have an incredible community of weightlifters of all experience levels who come together and train, and even compete nationally and internationally within the sport.
Weightlifting can be perfect for someone who has a good foundation of gym work behind them and is looking for anew focus/challenge and loves to get into the technical detail.
Weightlifting is a power sport and requires many components of fitness plus is a tonne of fun.
Our Weightlifting club is open to anyone to come and learn the Olympic lifts, however we recommend a good foundation of general strength training first to make learning the lifts easier and more rewarding.
Our club sessions run at 7PM Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings with some daytime classes also Wednesday and Saturday.
